## What this listing is
This is Airalo's eSIM page for Japan. An eSIM is a data plan you install on a phone that supports it, so you can be online when you land without buying a physical SIM. The page is titled "Japan eSIM, from 4.00 €" and sells plans for Japan only; broader plans are linked separately.
## The plans listed
Under the Unlimited filter the listing showed these packages when we read it:
- 3 days: 10.50 € - 5 days: 15.50 € - 7 days: 24.50 € - 10 days: 31.50 € - 15 days: 44.00 € - 30 days: 63.00 €
That is 10.50 € for 3 days at the short end and 63.00 € for 30 days at the long end. Worked out per day, the best value on the list is the 30-day plan at about 2.10 € a day, and the shortest plan costs about 3.50 € a day. The page also has filters for data-only, unlimited and fixed-data packages, so a smaller fixed-data plan may be cheaper than anything above.
## Coverage beyond Japan
If your trip crosses borders, the page points to Asia eSIMs from 4.00 € and global eSIMs from 8.00 €. These are separate products, so compare them against the Japan plans before you buy.
## Network and setup
The page names Softbank as the primary network for Japan, with one more network behind a link. Airalo says installation takes minutes and that you can install before you leave, which matters because you need a connection to download the eSIM profile. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is not locked to a carrier using the compatibility link on the page.
## Support
The page states 24/7 support in several languages, including chat on WhatsApp, and an app in 53 languages. Airalo also says over 30 million people use it; that is the company's own claim, not ours.
## When it fits
It suits a short city trip, such as a few days in Tokyo, where you want maps and tickets on your phone from arrival. If you use very little data, compare against your home plan's roaming price first.
