## What this page is
This is EKTA's travel insurance page for Japan. It sells the same plans as the company's other country pages, with the destination and travel dates set for a trip to Japan. EKTA says the policy is valid in any country and suits travellers of any age and nationality.
## The three tariffs
START covers 50,000 USD and shows 0.99 USD per day alongside 1.37 USD per day. GOLD covers 150,000 USD and shows 1.75 and 2.40 USD per day. MAX+ covers 500,000 USD and shows 5.90 and 8.08 USD per day. The page does not say what separates the two prices on each line, and a 37% discount banner appears elsewhere, so confirm the final price at checkout.
## What it says it covers
The page names medical care, medical transport, COVID-19, lost baggage, flight delay and legal assistance among its items, and gives examples such as a fracture, food poisoning, calling an ambulance, loss of documents and flight cancellation. It also lists a travel eSIM, a 24/7 travel concierge and expert consultations as extras.
## Choosing the activity level
Three levels are offered. Quiet rest covers walking, swimming and fitness. Active rest adds mopeds, water parks, horse and bicycle rides and downhill skiing on marked tracks, which matters if you plan to ski in Hokkaido or Nagano. Extreme rest adds freeride, rafting and base jumping.
## What to check for Japan
The page does not list Japan-specific limits. Before buying, look at the medical cover amount against what a hospital stay abroad could cost, and read how claims are paid, since in some countries you pay first and claim afterwards.
## When it fits
It suits a visitor who wants a short, low-cost policy by email before flying. If you have a pre-existing condition, read the exclusions on the policy terms, because the page does not state them.
